Class 1 pets

Year one have two new additions to their class! Find out who they are!

Year one are studying a Science project about growth and in PSHE the children are learning about how to look after and take care of things. To help them with these subjects they held a cake stall last month in order to raise some money for a class pet. Once the children had enough money, Pets at Home came in to school to visit and explain about small animals. The children were able to choose two Guinea Pigs for the class to look after. Miss Bramley, from the office asked a few of the class one children about the new furry creatures. T'arni Brandy informed Miss Bramley what the Guinea Pigs liked to eat. "Apples and carrots but sometimes tomatoes!" The children are enjoying learning how to hold the animals in the correct manner and how to care for them on a day to day basis, as well as studying the growth and behaviour of the Guinea Pigs. The pets are yet to be named, there will be a competition to name them at 20p an entry and all proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the pets.
