I, Femi Folorunso, being a safeguarding governor and as part of government guidelines attended a training titled Safeguarding: What Governors Need to Know , on 1 March 2021.  I attended similar training on 2 March 2020 just before the lockdown.  The trainings were organised by Nottingham City Council

Some of the things I learnt at the training include: safeguarding issues in schools, themes in safeguarding, governors’ roles and responsibilities, safer recruitment, allegations and concerns management. The training has helped me to work with the school safeguarding team and to be conversant with my roles and responsibilities as a safeguarding governor at Mellers Primary and Nursery School.
