It was a great relief, when I visited school on Monday 6th, to find a cheerful group of builders working on the new building for our Focus Provision for deaf pupils. This building has taken a long time to get underway. Our meetings with architects and the Local Authority started back in 2020 with a proposed opening for the children and staff of September 2021 when the provision moved to Mellers. The children and staff have coped admirably in the temporary provision but it is certainly not suitable for their long term needs. We hope that the new provision will be open in October this year.

It has been a joy for us to welcome the staff and children of the provision to Mellers and wonderful to see all children and staff signing with their new friends.
