I’m Laura Patel, deputy head at Mellers and associate governor.  I have been deputy head teacher at Mellers since 2001. Before this, I worked in inner city schools in Birmingham.  There is something very special about city children and the children at Mellers. Being a governor gives me the opportunity to influence decisions and further support the school in reaching its aims. We work hard together for our children to achieve their full potential and have the skills, knowledge and capabilities to make the best choices in their future.  It is a privilege to work alongside others that are as equally passionate about the school and our community.
